Introduction
At DBS Security System Pvt. Ltd. and Endroid USA, we believe it is our responsibility to conduct business in a manner that protects the environment and supports sustainable product stewardship throughout the lifecycle of our security and electronic products.
We are committed to delivering innovative solutions while ensuring compliance with the E-waste (Management) Rules in India. We partner with authorized recyclers to channel end-of-life electrical and electronic equipment for environmentally sound recycling—reducing landfill burden and recovering valuable materials responsibly.
About E-waste
E-waste is defined as waste electrical and electronic equipment, whole or in part, or rejects from manufacturing and repair processes, intended to be discarded. It includes obsolete or end-of-life appliances that use electricity—such as cameras, recorders, access control devices, displays, and related accessories.
As dependence on electronic security products grows, responsible disposal becomes critical. E-waste may contain hazardous substances; improper handling can harm human health and the environment.
Benefits of Recycling
- Conserves natural resources — Recoverable materials such as aluminum, copper, gold, silver, and ferrous metals reduce demand for virgin mining.
- Reduces pollution — Scientific recycling lowers air, water, and soil contamination compared to informal disposal or open burning.
- Supports the circular economy — Recycled inputs can be used in new products, reducing overall environmental footprint.
Health & Environmental Risks of Improper Disposal
- Health risks — Direct contact with lead, cadmium, chromium, mercury, or flame retardants in damaged devices can cause serious health effects.
- Children at higher risk — Greater relative intake of air, water, and food increases vulnerability to toxic exposure.
- Environmental degradation — Informal dismantling, open burning of plastics, and landfill disposal release persistent pollutants.
Accidental breakage of electronics can leak toxins if casings are damaged. Always use authorized collection channels rather than informal scrap dealers or rag pickers.
Regulatory Framework (India)
The E-waste (Management) Rules, 2016 (as amended) aim to channel E-waste generated in India toward environmentally sound recycling, moving activity away from unorganized sectors that use crude practices resulting in pollution and resource loss.
Product packaging should be separated and recycled where possible. Appliances containing recyclable materials are marked accordingly. Do not mix E-waste with regular municipal waste.
